Your eBay account, and how this tool treats it

Resellers are right to be careful about letting any tool near an eBay account. eBay controls your account, and one bad listing can cost you the whole store. ListRodeo is built around that fact. This page is about how the tool behaves, in plain words, so you can decide for yourself.

What ListRodeo will not do to your account

These are not promises about outcomes. They are things the tool is built not to do.

• It will not run on its own. It does what you ask, when you ask, on the account you connected. It is not an agent that goes off and acts on its own schedule.
• It will not publish a listing you have not put through. Nothing reaches eBay unless you take an action that sends it.
• It will not push past a problem. When a check does not pass, the listing stops and waits for you. It does not try again and again into an error.
• It will not keep going after eBay pushes back. If eBay returns an account-risk error mid-batch, the run stops right there instead of hammering your account.
• It will not ask for your eBay password. You connect through eBay's own sign-in and consent screen, and you can cut off its access from your eBay settings whenever you want.

What fail-closed means for you

Fail-closed is the rule the tool runs on: when it is not sure, it stops and holds the listing instead of guessing. A held listing goes to a review queue for you to look at. It is not published and then apologized for. In practice:

• Every listing runs through a set of checks before it can go to eBay. If a safety check cannot finish, the listing is held, not sent.
• The checks that guard your account are on by default and cannot be quietly skipped. If one is not set up, the tool treats that as a reason to hold, not a reason to proceed.
• After the tool creates, ends, or relists anything, it reads the listing back from eBay and confirms the result before it records that the action worked. If it cannot confirm, it flags the item instead of assuming.

Nothing publishes without an action you take

By default, every listing goes to a review page and you confirm it before it reaches eBay. That review step is on for everyone to start, and the tool will not let you turn it off until you have listed enough to know how it behaves.

There is a faster path that lists in one step without the review page. It is off by default, and the tool is honest about it on the screen where you would turn it on. When it is on, the list button says plainly: this publishes live to your eBay account in one step, no review page. No surprises about when something goes live. That honesty is part of the posture, not a footnote to it.

How this fits eBay's rules

ListRodeo connects to eBay through eBay's official API, as a registered developer integration, using the standard sign-in and consent flow. It acts on your account because you connected it and you direct it. It is a tool you run, not a bot running on its own.

eBay's rules restrict unapproved automated bots and AI agents acting on the marketplace. ListRodeo is the opposite of that category. It is a seller-directed tool that works through eBay's official APIs, on the account you own, at your direction. It does not browse or buy for you, and it does not act without you.

The honest limits

No tool can promise anything about your eBay account. Only eBay decides what happens to your account, and anyone who tells you their tool makes you ban-proof is selling you something we will not sell. What a tool can do is choose how it behaves, and that is the part we control.

So ListRodeo is built to refuse the risky move rather than promise an outcome. It stops when it is unsure, it asks before it acts, and it checks its own work against eBay. You still own every listing, and you are still responsible for following eBay's rules. The tool's job is to make the careful choice the default one, and to be plain with you about what it is doing.
